In the fourth volume of Aunt Jo's Scrap-Bag, Louisa May Alcott turns her keen and sympathetic eye toward the world of "My Girls." From the bustling streets of London in "Lost in a London Fog" to the quiet beauty of "Roses and Forget-me-nots," Alcott offers a patchwork of stories that celebrate the various ways children grow in wisdom and virtue.
Whether she is describing "What the Girls Did" during a creative afternoon or sharing the simple joys of "Marjorie's Three Gifts," Alcott provides her readers with living models of character. These tales are more than just memories; they are invitations to see the "noble" in every day life. With stories of faithful friends like "Old Major" and the playful high-spirits of "The Boys' Joke," this volume remains a testament to Alcott's ability to honor the mind and heart of the young reader with stories that endure.
