In this first volume of Aunt Jo's Scrap-Bag, Louisa May Alcott-the "Jo March" of our hearts-invites children into a world of realistic wonder. Drawn from her own family life and keen observations of the human spirit, these stories are a testament to the extraordinary found in the ordinary.
From the lively sketches of "My Boys" to the touching resilience found in "Tessa's Surprises" and "Tilly's Christmas," Alcott speaks directly to the child as a person. These are stories of grit, compassion, and the simple virtues that form the bedrock of a happy life. Whether it is the industrious spirit of "Dandelion" or the gentle lessons of "Patty's Patchwork," this collection provides a feast of ideas and noble models that respect the mind and heart of the young reader.
