#79 Downy Woodpecker
*The black-and-white Downy Woodpecker, the smallest member of its family in North America, is common across most of the United States and Canada. It is a familiar visitor to backyard feeders, where it prefers suet, and in the winter it will join in flocks of chickadees, nuthatches, and other active little birds in parks and woods. It uses its chisel-shaped bill to excavate and forage on wood, and its stiff tail as a brace to cling onto a tree.
All embroidered bird patches have an iron-on backing, but the adhesive is temporary. For durability, we recommend sewing or using a permanent, flexible fabric glue.
A small, detailed bird patch made for adding a bit of the natural world to everyday things. Sew it onto a favorite jacket, tuck it onto a backpack, or use it to mend and keep something well-loved in use a little longer.
Perfect for nature lovers, young explorers, and anyone who enjoys small, meaningful details inspired by the outdoors.
