Lola's family has an apple orchard and every year they sell hundreds of apple pies for customers' Thanksgiving tables. It's always a big job, so this year Lola is going to cook Thanksgiving dinner on her own to help out. She has a plan and a list. But Mom and Dad need her help making all the pies too. Lola's list keeps getting left behind and Thanksgiving arrives without crossing off a single thing. Luckily, aunts and uncles and cousins arrive ready to help the family prepare a Thanksgiving feast! Just...no apple pie, please! Includes an apple pie recipe.
A delightful account of helpfulness, plans placed on hold, and disappointment avoided...A mouthwatering, heartwarming story of teamwork.-- "Kirkus" (8/17/2024 12:00:00 AM)
Beth Charles grew up in northern New Jersey and always thought she'd be a librarian like her mom or a teacher like her dad. Instead, she married a librarian and became a museum curator. Later, she and her husband moved to Vermont, and along with several family members, bought Mendon Mountain Orchards, a historic apple orchard. Now that one of her grown children owns the orchard, Beth has more time to knit, write books for kids, and spend time with her grandchildren. She still spends plenty of time at the orchard helping out, and when Thanksgiving comes and everyone pitches in, she's still Apple Pie Tired!
